VOLUNTEERING AT CUMBERLAND RIVER VICTIMS SERVICES means being there for someone who needs you, empowering others to believe in themselves and making a difference one person at a time. There are many ways you can help. Whether you're offering client support at a hospital, monitoring court proceedings or raising awareness in the community, your efforts will be at the heart of Cumberland River Victims Services' mission.

The following volunteer opportunities are available:

        Hospital Advocates
            Assist survivors at area hospitals by collecting information as
            necessary and providing advocacy, information, support and options. 
        Court Advocates

            Support survivors by collecting information, accompanying them to
            court hearings and monitoring relevant court proceedings.
 
    Special Event Volunteers

            Assist with administration, planning and implementation of awareness
               events.

 

VOLUNTEERS MUST:

Be at least 20 years of age
•Complete a volunteer application and interview
•Agree to reference and background checks
•Take a drug screening
•Sign a pledge of confidentiality
•Complete required 40 hours of training in appropriate area of service
