Green Dot

Green Dot is a bystander intervention program developed by Dr. Dorothy Edwards.  It focuses upon preventing violence by encouraging everyone to recognize and react in a safe way to interpersonal violence. Green Dot provides a sense of hope that the collective impact of individual actions can result in a violence reduction.

A Green Dot is any behavior, choice, word, or attitude that counters or displaces violence – by promoting safety for everyone and communicating utter intolerance for sexual violence, interpersonal violence, stalking, and child abuse.

No one has to do everything, but everyone must do something.

Green Dot is currently available in one high school in each Kentucky region, but will be available to other schools in the near future.
